Description: | Polygon motor error 2: OFF timeout The polygon mirror motor does leave the READY status within 10 seconds after the polygon motor switches OFF. |

Description: | Laser Synchronization Detector Error 1: K Leading Edge: LD0 While the polygon motor is rotating normally, no synchronizing detection signal is output for LD0 black, or leading edge, even after the laser diode has been firing for 2 sec. |
Causes: | • Disconnected cable from the laser synchronizing detection unit or defective connection • Defective laser synchronizing detector • Defective LDB • Defective EGB |

Description: | Optical unit sensor error. At power ON, one of the two temperature sensors in the optics unit detected a temperature lower than 0°C for more than 1 sec. -or- It detected a temperature higher than 100°C for more than 1 sec. |
Causes: | After the main power switch ON, writing thermistor temperature is detected at 100ms intervals an ... • Less than -30 degrees Celsius is detected for more than 4 seconds (Thermistor defective). • More than 105 degrees Celsius is detected for more than 1 second (Thermistor short). |
Remedy: | • Thermistor disconnected (causes extremely low temperature reading) • Thermistor damaged and short circuited (causes extremely high temperature reading) • BICU defective |

Description: | Bias Leak (C5) |
Causes: | A bias leak has occurred for the drum charge, development charge, or transfer charge. PWM signals are sampled at 20 msec. intervals. This SC is issued if 10 PWM samplings within 200 msec. are abnormal. • HVPS harness loose, broken, defective • HVPS board defective • AIO terminal defective |
Remedy: | • Cycle the machine off/on • Check all the harness connections of the HVPS • Check spring-loaded AIO terminal installation behind the HVPS. • Replace HVPS. |
Error code: | SC500 |
Description: | Transport/Fusing Motor Error The LOCK signal error is detected when the EGB monitors the transport/fusing motor state. (This monitoring is done immediately after power-on, when the motor starts rotating, and immediately after the motor stops.) |
Causes: | • Disconnected or defective motor harness. • Motor slips due to excessive load |
Remedy: | 1. Check the harness from the transport/fusing motor. Replace it if necessary. |
Error code: | SC541 |
Description: | Heating roller thermistor 1 error 1: Poor connection. The temperature measured by the heating roller thermistor does not reach 130°C after 10 tries and 65 sec. have elapsed. |
Causes: | • Disconnected thermistor • Defective harness connection |

Error code: | SC542 |
Description: | Heating roller thermistor 1 error 2: No warmup. After the main switch is turned ON or the cover is closed, the heating roller temperature does not reach the ready temperature within 2 sec. after the heater switches ON. -or- If the roller was below 45°C, the heating roller did not reach the ready temperature 2 sec. after reaching 45°C. Note: Thermistor 2 stops monitoring the temperature once Thermistor 1 detects ready temperature. |
Causes: | • Defective thermistor • Incorrect power supply input at the main power socket • Defective fusing lamp |
Remedy: | • Thermistor is bent, installed incorrectly • Defective heating roller thermistor • Heating roller fusing lamp broken Do SP5810 to cancel the SC fusing code. |

Description: | Heating roller thermistor 1 error 3: Software - High temperature. The thermistor detected a temperature over 230°C. |
Causes: | • Defective I/O control (EGB) • Defective EGB |
Remedy: | • TRIAC short • IOB defective • BICU defective • Fusing temperature out of control Do SP5810 to cancel the SC fusing code. |
Error code: | SC544 |
Description: | Heating roller thermistor 1 error 4: Hardware - High temperature. The thermistor detected a temperature over 260°C. |
Causes: | The machine detected the CPU port LOW twice at 100 ms intervals and issued this SC. This check is always done to check for overheating, even if SC543 does not detect the problem. |
Remedy: | • TRIAC short • IOB defective • BICU defective • Fusing temperature control is erratic Do SP5810 to cancel the SC fusing code. |
Error code: | SC545 |
Description: | Heating roller thermistor 1 error 5: Lamp remains ON. After hot roller reaches warmup temperature, the fusing lamps remained ON at full capacity for 25 sec. after reaching the warmup temperature while the hot roller was not rotating. |
Causes: | • Deformed thermistor • Thermistor not in the correct position • Defective fusing lamp |
Remedy: | • Thermistor damaged, or out of position • Fusing lamp disconnected, broken |
Error code: | SC547 |
Description: | Zero cross error. When the main switch is turned ON, the machine checks how many zero-cross signals are generated within 500 ms. This SC code is issued if the number of zerocross signals detected is either more than 66 or less than 45 for 10 readings. Note: Zero cross signals, generated from an ac power supply, are used to generate a trigger pulses to control the applied power accurately. |
Causes: | Defective fusing lamp relay |
Remedy: | • Electrical noise on the power supply line • Fusing relay damaged: replace the PSU. Normally, this SC is cancelled if you do SP5810 to cancel the SC fusing code. |
Error code: | SC551 |
Description: | Pressure roller thermistor error 1. The temperature measured by the pressure roller thermistor does not reach 0°C for 200 sec. |
Causes: | In the condition of relay ON, the end thermistor on the fusing detects less than 0 degrees Celsius for more than 5 seconds. |
Remedy: | • Loose connection of the pressure roller thermistor • Defective pressure roller thermistor • Defective BICU Do SP5810 to cancel the SC fusing code. |
Error code: | SC556 |
Description: | Heating roller thermistor 2 error 5: Lamp remains ON. After hot roller reaches warmup temperature, the pressure roller fusing lamp remains for 6 sec. while the hot roller is not rotating. |
Causes: | More than 1 degree Celsius temperature difference (between Center – End thermistor) is detected for 1.5 seconds 5 times in a row. |
Remedy: | • Thermistor damaged, or out of position • Fusing lamp disconnected, broken |
Error code: | SC557 |
Description: | Zero Cross Frequency Error The detection error occurs ten times consecutively in ten zero cross signal detections. This error is defined when the detected zero cross signal is 17 or less/27 or more for 0.2 seconds. |
Causes: | • Defective fusing lamp relay • Unstable input power source |
Remedy: | 1. Check the power supply source. 2. Replace the fusing unit. |
Error code: | SC559 |
Description: | Consecutive Fusing Jam The paper jam counter for the fusing unit reaches 3. The paper jam counter is cleared if the paper is fed correctly. This SC is activated only when this function is enabled with "Fuser SC Detect" in the SP Mode 2 tab. |
Causes: | • Defective fusing unit • Defective fusing control |
Remedy: | 1. Clear this SC to send a command after a jam removal. 2. Turn off this function after a jam removal. |
Error code: | SC560 |
Description: | Low input voltage (-21 and -27 model only) |
Causes: | When the input voltage is extremely low (Lower than 140V). |
Remedy: | • Can be reset by turning the power OFF/ON. • Use high quality power supply. • Execute "Fuser SC Reset" after solving a fusing unit problem. Otherwise, the machine will continue to issue this SC code and cannot be operated. |

Causes: | Modem chip defective. |
Remedy: | • Replace fax board. |
Error code: | SC669 |
Description: | EEPROM Communication Error The TD sensor cannot be recovered after retrying N*1 times for EEPROM communication error. (*1 SC669-01 to 26: 3, SC669-36: 2, SC669-37: 1) |
Causes: | • Electrical noise • EEPROM not connected fully • EEPROM not installed • EEPROM damaged • BCU damaged |
Remedy: | 1. Turn the main power OFF/ON. 2. Reconnect the EEPROM. 3. Replace the EEPROM. 4. Replace the BCU. |
Error code: | SC670 |
Description: | Engine startup error. • Engine does not respond within 30 s after power ON. • Engine down detected suddenly during power ON and warmup. |
Causes: | The engine failed to communicate with the firmware. Firmware update failure. |
Remedy: | • BICU installation incorrect • BICU defective • Sudden communication reset occurred between the BICU and the controller. |

Description: | No CTL_PRREQ_N Signal (c4) |
Causes: | Paper failed to feed after the machine reached the reload temperature because the main board did not issue a PRREQ signal. |

Description: | Controller Error |
Causes: | Unexpected error. |
Remedy: | Cycle the machine off/on. |
Error code: | SC828 |
Description: | Self-diagnostic error 7: ROM • Measuring the CRC for the boot monitor and operating system program results in an error. • A check of the CRC value for ROMFS of the entire ROM area results in an error. |
Causes: | A firmware type error or checksum error occurred. |
